No one is safe from the sheer dress. Not even Mandy Moore.
While visiting The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday, May 10, the This Is Us star put her spin on the sheer dress, the biggest trend of the year, and the result is, well, sheer perfection.
Moore’s stylist, Kevin Michael Ericson, posted the full look on Instagram, which included the Alberta Ferretti dress with sheer panels and ruffle detailing, matching plum stilettos by Aquazurra, and Delfina Delettrez drop earrings.
See-through dresses are all the rage these days—Kerry Washington was one of multiple celebs, including Kate Moss’s daughter Lila, who wore sheer gowns to the 2022 Met Gala. Just recently, Kristen Stewart wore a sheer skirt over a bodysuit while in Monaco.
Moore visited the show to promote her latest album, In Real Life, but of course we’re also all waiting to see what happens to her character Rebecca Pearson as This Is Us draws to a close. Probably not a spoiler to say…we’re gonna cry. As series creator Dan Fogelman revealed during a panel discussion last month, “the second to last script, it made Mandy throw up. Hopefully, not ugly throw up,” to which Moore added, “A beautiful throw up. It was so beautiful and upsetting that that was my physical reaction.”
She repeated the anecdote on Fallon, but added that the actual finale might not be quite so gut-wrenching (literally).
“I will tell you that the penultimate episode, I threw up after I read it. And maybe that’s just because it’s really close to the bone for me…you might need a day off from work…. It destroyed me; I have a feeling it might destroy people,” Mandy Moore revealed. However, she promised that the final episode was “a hug” with more “levity.” Gonna need the day off anyway.
