Kontoor Brands aims to reduce GHG emissions by 46.2% by 2030

Kontoor Brands has received approval from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its near-term environmental goals. The company aims to reduce scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 46.2 per cent by 2030, using 2019 as the base year.


Additionally, it aims to cut absolute scope 3 emissions, which encompass purchased goods and services, fuel and energy-related activities, and transportation, by the same percentage within the same timeframe, Kontoor Brands said in a media release.

“We have committed to the Science Based Targets initiative to help create a more sustainable and just future, using our science-based targets as a guide, we will continue accelerating our efforts to reduce the company’s carbon footprint and environmental impacts. This is an important milestone in our efforts to combat climate change and further solidifies Kontoor’s commitment to contributing to a healthier planet and working towards a more equitable society.
