Hello, Cardi B! From the woman who brought you the Thierry Mugler clamshell dress at the 2019 Grammy Awards comes another sculptural gown for the record books.
Styled by Kollin Carter, Cardi B hit the Grammys red carpet on February 5 wearing a stunning Gaurav Gupta gown from the Indian designer’s 2023 couture collection. Though the original design walked the runway as a minidress, the “Hot Shit” rapper rocked a full-length version of the cobalt dress with the same swirling hip cutout and dramatic sheer hood.
Cardi B paired the look with dangling diamond earrings and a three-finger diamond ring, drawing attention to her black stiletto manicure. For her makeup look, she opted for a taupe smoky eye, dramatic lashes, and brown-lined lips.
Joining Cardi B on the carpet was her husband of six years, Offset, who was dressed in a white and black tuxedo. The rappers are clearly enjoying a date night away from their children: four-year-old Kulture Kiari and one-year-old Wave Set. Offset is also the father of three more children from previous relationships. “It’s a blessing to be able to have them all together and to have a wife who’s open and treats them as if they’re her kids,” Offset said told Essence in 2022. It could be an issue, but I don’t have to go through that, and that’s beautiful.”
Though Cardi B is not nominated for a Grammy at this year’s ceremony, I think we can all agree she won the red carpet.
