When they say “Stars, they’re just like us,” do they mean Sophie Turner? I only ask because the 27-year-old Game of Thrones star just stepped out in my go-to look from 2010 to 2013.
On November 10, Turner was photographed shopping while wearing an all-black ensemble that appears, at first glance, to be the standard New York City winter uniform.
What’s so 10 years ago about boots, pants, scarf, and a long wool coat? Well, it all comes down to what kind of boots and what kind of pants Turner reached for this morning.
As previously demonstrated by Taylor Swift, riding boots are making a big comeback in 2023.
However, while Swift gave her just-below-the-knee leather boots a modern twist by embracing this fall’s popular anti-pants trend, Turner paired her lived-in boots with their natural partner: a pair of black leggings.
Of course, Sophie Turner’s black boots are probably much more expensive than the pair I wore to death back in college.
Though I couldn’t say for sure, it appears the mother of two is wearing her favored Khaite Derby Riding Boots, which are largely sold out but previously retailed for $1,460.
Don’t worry, Madewell sells a very similar pair for $289.
There’s also the Nine West Barile Boot for $129 available at dsw.com.
While riding boots may be having a moment this fall, Turner has been loyal to the boots and leggings combo for a while.
In fact, she wore what appears to be the same pair on a New York City outing with then husband Joe Jonas almost one year ago, exactly.
Although her love of Juuls, boots, and leggings have clearly remained consistent, Turner and Jonas called it quits this September.
Now rumor has it Turner is starting something new with British aristocrat Peregrine “Perry” Pearson in late October.
And if that doesn’t work out, word on the street is that Taylor Swift’s new friend Brittany Mahomes “would love to help play matchmaker.”
Never mind, stars are not just like us after all..
