Farm Rio opens its second location in the United States, in Los Angeles

Founded by Katia Barros and Marcello Bastos in 1997, and since 2010 attached to the Brazilian group Grupo Soma which includes the brands of ready-to-wear Hering, Animale, Maria Filò, Fábula and Foxton, the Brazilian brand Farm Rio advocates femininity in a colorful and vibrant spirit, faithful to the spirit of Rio de Janeiro. A style that now wants to please Angelenos with the opening of a first boutique in the Venice district.

In an immaculate white decor, with straw umbrellas and surfboards, Farm Rio presents on its racks mini and maxi dresses, kimonos and colored blouses and tropical patchwork prints, with motifs of flowers, ferns, palm trees and pineapples, crocheted tops and cardigans and denim shorts. A collection that celebrates, according to its founders, “the Brazilian culture”.

On the central displays, Farm Rio offers a collection of scarves, a selection of lifestyle items from hats to earrings, sunglasses, gourds, sandals, raffia mules, slippers, sneakers and beautiful books.

Manufactured mainly in Turkey, Morocco and Portugal, the Farm Rio collections now account for almost half of Grupo Soma’s sales, its most profitable brand. Despite the fact that production is carried out abroad, Farm Rio is committed to eco-responsibility by signing a partnership with the association One Tree Planted which, for each purchase made, allows a tree to be planted in the Amazon
