Leaves are changing, temperatures are dropping, and PSLs are flowing—it’s officially sweater weather. Free People is one of our favorite places to stock up on fall staples, but this season the retailer is pulling out all the stops: It just teamed up with legendary designer Anna Sui on a limited edition collection—Free People’s very first in the United States—that’s basically the cool girl’s fall capsule wardrobe.
The 20-piece collaboration includes flowy dresses, bold tops, and cozy jackets that all stay true to Free People’s trademark boho style, but with edgier prints and silhouettes courtesy of Sui. (The entire thing feels a little witchy in the best way possible.) Echoes of the ’70s and ’90s run through the entire collection, which ranges from $48 for a graphic tee to $998 for a showstopper of a faux-fur coat. Sizes run from XS to XL—and we regret to inform you that many of them are already selling out.
“This collaboration is truly a privilege,” Sui shared in a statement. “There is the perfect blend of iconic Anna Sui feminine, rock-influenced, vintage-inspired DNA and everything that Free People consistently represents: artful, innovative, and free-spirited style.”
It’s tough to pick standouts, but we suggest you snag one of these printed maxidresses, some Stevie Nicks–worthy velvet pants, and delicate sheer blouses while you still can. And while much of it was designed specifically for the limited edition drop, two items—the Penny jeans and the Dolman jacket—are remixed takes on Free People best sellers.
Although these pieces wouldn’t look out of place in a Y2K-inspired outfit, we can assure you they won’t look dated in a few months; Free People and Anna Sui have both built brands that exist outside of time, and you’ll want to reach for your picks season after season. (After all, sweater vests, blazers, and dresses never really go out of style.)
