The brand’s expansion efforts will primarily focus on the northern region of the country, with new store openings planned for cities such as Bologna, Turin, Brescia, and Lonato. Additionally, Mango aims to grow its presence in cities like Rome, Milan, Florence, and Palermo.

The expansion plan in Italy kicked off in March with the opening of a 600-square-metre store dedicated to its women’s and children’s lines in Bologna. This marked Mango’s return to the city.

Since then, the brand has continued to open new stores in shopping centers like To Dream in Turin, Grandapulia in Foggia, and Elnos in Brescia, as well as in Reggio Calabria. Noteworthy upcoming openings include locations in Forum

In addition to new store openings, Mango will renovate some of its existing operational stores to incorporate its retail concept called New Med

In Italy, Mango plans to renovate three stores this year: those located at the train stations in Turin and Venice, and Via Torino in Milan.

“The opening and remodeling of these stores are part of the expansion plan we are carrying out to consolidate our brand in the country. Italy is a key market for Mango and one of the most important for fashion in the world, and we want to have a significant presence in it,” said Daniel López, director of expansion and franchises at Mango.

The Spanish fashion company has been operating in Italy since 2001. In 2022, it inaugurated eight new stores and signed an agreement with Retail Group, a company belonging to the Italian group Grandi Stazioni Retail, which operates over thirty stores in the country’s main railway stations. This collaboration led to the acquisition of seven Mango stores that were previously operated as franchises.

In addition to the ambitious expansion plans in Italy, Mango has also announced significant growth strategies for the United Kingdom and the United States. Alongside its international development, the company is also strengthening its presence in Spain with over 15 planned store openings in the country throughout 2023. Mango, founded in Barcelona in 1984, achieved a record-breaking turnover of 2.688 billion euros in 2022, representing a 20.3% increase compared to 2021.
