If Julia Fox is challenging herself to go out wearing as little as possible while still being technically “dressed,” I think she’s winning. To the PrettyLittleThing x Naomi Campbell runway show on September 5, the actor wore a metal bra-and-panty piece that’s really more contraption than garment, which she topped with an oversized leather trench. I’m not actually sure what to call this outfit, so I’m going with sexy chainmail.
The bra part of the outfit consisted of two medallions held together with metal chains, with more metal chains connecting to the bottom piece, which only mostly covered Fox’s vulva. It’s the kind of outfit only Julia Fox—or maybe one of the Charmed sisters on a journey to the underworld—would wear. She finished the look with a long leather trench coat straight out of The Matrix, mid-calf leather boots, and black lipstick.
But, ya know, strapping together bits of unlikely material to create a bra is kind of Fox’s thing. When you’re Julia Fox, anything can be a bra top if you put your mind to it. A few wide belts can be a bra top. Fallen leaves and resin can be a bra top. The waistband of your jeans can be a bra top. Basically, if it can fit over your boobs (or even just your nipples), it’s a top. So why not bits of decorative metal?
