I am speculating, sure, but this might as well be true, based on the consistently effortless cool-girl looks she steps out in, even on the most inconsequential of occasions. I’m thinking of the time she pushed her stroller in $820 slipper flats, or when she ran errands while slinging her slouchy leather bag from The Row over her shoulder the way so many New Yorkers might do with their Trader Joe’s canvas totes.
So what does she wear in the tricky weeks between the end of summer and the official start of fall? The perfect transitional outfit, obviously.
While out in New York with her husband, Cooke Maroney, on August 22, Lawrence wore a white linen suit vest—one-half of the ivory vest-and-trouser set every It girl was seen wearing this summer—and no-fuss midrise black trousers. She finished the look with a pair of black leather sandals, an olive green leather tote, and oversize sunglasses.
Not only is this look on trend (sorry, millennials, the mid- and low-rise cuts really are coming back this fall), it’s super easy to re-create.
