Adidas North America head to depart
Adidas
Campbell first joined Adidas in 2012 as a retail director and moved up to senior vice president for Europe until 2015. He returned as a managing director for the brand’s Russian operations in 2018, and became president of North America in January 2022.
“We thank Rupert for his contributions to the success of Adidas over the last 11 years and wish him the very best for all his future endeavors,” the company said in a statement.
Campbell’s departure comes as the brand tries to regain its footing in North America. In the first six months of 2023, Adidas sales in North America decreased 18%, with company sales still reeling from its separation from Ye, following anti-semitic remarks made by the rapper and designer earlier this year.
Campbell’s last day will be October 27.
Arthur Hoeld, executive board member, will take direct oversight of the North American business until a full-time successor is found, according to a WWD report.
